Wayne-O's 40th Birthday Camping Bash

I'm sure this will be the first of a few posts regarding Wayne's birthday camping bash. It was to celebrate Wayne finally joining Club 4.0.

We had such a good time and one of the things we did was a movie presentation. It's amazing what you can do with generators!! So here is the movie (it's about 9 minutes long) and hopefully, I'll have some pictures up on the blog soon!

First camp trip of the 2009

We had our first camping trip of the season last weekend. We went out to the local moto park for a National qualifying races and got our fill of dirt bikes for a good long while... And it's a good first trip of the season because if everything falls apart, it's only a 30 minute drive home.

This is the first season that Olivia really remembers camping and she had so much fun. She would run circles outside and run from one end of the trailer to the other.

There were tons of kids out and about of course they wanted to play in the dirt. You could have every toy in the world and the 99 cent bucket from Target was the biggest hit!

On Saturday night, we had a huge storm blow in and I was so worried the trailer was going to tip over and of course I was the only one awake for it all... The next day there were TUMBLEWEEDS blown up against the side of the trailer. It was SOO cold, we never even went out. Even Wayne bundled up for the cold...

A Boy and his nightcrawlers

I just LOVE this picture... Walker is really into over turning rocks and looking for bugs and night-crawlers. We have a lot of rocks and therefore lots of bugs and worms. And he is just so proud of his latest haul. The poor worms will usually get a ride on the scooter and usually end up being brought home (back to some kind of dirt...). But I have found a few in my car and most recently the bathtub! In fact yesterday, while Walker was napping, the little wormie's Mom called and said it was time for them to come home.

Already playing to the crowd

Indulge me... but we've got one more little video of Walker in his new helmet and gloves.  He's really getting the hang of the bike, which scares me to death, yet I'm still proud.

Anyway, notice the little wave to Mommy and Olivia as he rides by.   Too funny!

Game on...

Well... it has began...

Walker got a 'real' motorcycle for Christmas.  Daddy got him a Yamaha TTR50 'with training wheels' and Walker couldn't be happier.  When he first saw it under the Christmas tree, he started jumping up and down on one foot and kept telling me that Santa had brought him a 'blue bike'.  After sitting on it inside for about 30 seconds he wanted to start it up.  It took quite a bit of convincing to put it off until all the presents were unwrapped.  Then everyone got bundled up and out we went.

After two rides, Walker asked 'Daddy, can we build a jump?  Uncle Matt... are you reading this?

Finally, Walker would get cold enough to come in and then the process was repeated at least three more times that day.  Thank goodness it doesn't fit in the back of Mommy's car... he wanted to bring it to day care today.

So, I see our Spring and Summer mapped out for the next few years... Who is the Patron Saint of Injuries?

Hunting in Salmon, ID

Wayne and his buddy Don went hunting a couple of weeks ago up in Salmon, Idaho.  The headwaters of the Salmon river and an amazing outdoor area.  But hunting from a Shepherd's tent in December in Salmon??  Not my idea of fun but the guys had a blast.  And it was COLD!  20's for the high and 0-2 for the lows.  Again, not my idea of a fun time, but they had a blast.

They were bow hunting for Mule Dear and didn't bring any home.  And I was hoping for a Steelhead but their fishing lines were freezing after a few casts.  Brrrrrr....

Thanksgiving and Fall Leaves

Walker and Olivia are in the same day care classroom right now and they have been so cute.  They are growing really close and on Olivia's first day he introduced her to all his friends.

Olivia already has an admirer 'Alan' who always brings her a toy when we walk through the door.

They made some cute Thanksgiving headbands and they love to wear them.

And we finally go the last of the leaves raked up.  This year was only 28 bags...

Here is Walker playing in some of the those leaves.  BTW - the last 10 seconds are the best!
